I’m here to crash your event, leaving an explosive impact that will have attendees ready to conquer the uncharted, the unknown and the uncomfortable.

My vibe is raw and real, drawing straight from the trenches of my own experiences, particularly my own transformative journey: I went from being a legal pro sitting at a desk all day to soaring the skies as a flight attendant – a leap into pure uncertainty which I was rewarded for tenfold with a job that I absolutely love.

The freedom that came with that flip taught me one thing: screwing conformity and the “next logical step” is the key to a life full of … life! It’s the spark that turns your journey into a sky-high, adrenaline-pumping adventure.

Through my electrifying keynote, I challenge the audience to be the author of their own life narrative and the DJ of their personal soundtrack. This isn’t your typical pep talk – it’s a roadmap for summoning the guts to be real, even when the world outside seems hell-bent on pushing you in the opposite direction.

On Instagram, I regularly post and write about the positive and negative aspects of my new life. Authenticity being one of my top values, you won’t find any glamour-driven filter-biased sunset pictures, but a real-life recollection of what my new life actually looks like.

    Impressions of my new life

    "What if I fall?"

    What if you fly?

Noémie Frischknecht aka The Flying Fox

Growing up in a politically active family, I had decided, at twelve years old, to one day become a Federal Councillor. You’ve got to aim high, right? That’s why I studied law and, to make it a little more hardcore, I opted to do that in a foreign language. Acing my studies with summa cum laude distinction, I continued my professional journey as a trainee in a law firm and subsequently with two years of soul-sucking self-study, which I successfully completed by being called to the bar.

But now what? Finally a lawyer and notary public, I realized that if I was going to change the world, it wasn’t with politics. Greenbacks were the real measure of power. I listened closely and heard the private sector call my name; made my experiences in different companies. Some good, some bad, some downright ugly. My last legal role was heaven-sent though, with the best team I could have wished for. I was co-leading a company-wide two-year-long project, trained, audited, worked with, or spoke to a lot of people in the company and reported directly to top management. It was bloody scary but transformative. Hard work but rewarding. I loved every minute of it.

The pandemic brought an interesting change to my role: I was suddenly responsible for contact-tracing requests from health authorities all over the world. Studied the requests, approved or denied them. Kon’nichiwa Tōkyō. Servus Wien. Bom dia São Paulo. This shift in gears was the first unexpected but welcomed twist in my career. As much as I had loved my responsibilities so far, I had also started to realize that being a lawyer had never been my heart’s calling. I just wasn’t about law tomes and exploding e-mail inboxes after all; I was about cultures, languages, people and places. Connection. Stories. Heartbeats. And it was freaking time to flip the script.

It took me some months of soul-searching, dream-digging, evaluating, pondering, and wondering “what if” until I was ready to throw caution to the wind. Buckle up, because… I decided to become a flight attendant.

Ditching the conventional career path was and still is the best decision of my professional life. Breaking free from my own, my family’s and society’s expectations of how things should be and diving headfirst into a challenge that mixes leadership and a lot of responsibility with a dose of wild adventures gifted me with that sweet spot where my love for inner and outer exploration collide. It’s pure bliss.

My journey is a testament to the art of reinvention and the relentless pursuit of personal happiness. From law to operational aviation, I embody the spirit of courage and resilience and I’ve made it my mission to inspire and lead others – and that means you! – to fearlessly follow your own heart and redefine your own path if you aren’t truly, fully happy where you are because if I can do it, you can, too. Fact.
